Parumala Church

St. Peter's and St. Paul's Church, Parumala, also known as Parumala Pally, is a parish church of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

A temporary church in Parumala was rebuilt by Gregorios and consecrated in 1895.

The consecration rites of the new church, led by the Catholicos, was held on 27 October 2000.

Edathua is a small village in Kuttanad, Alappuzha district, Kerala, India.

Thakazhy

Thakazhy is a village in Alappuzha district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is part of the Kuttanad region bound by the backwaters. It is the birthplace of the famous writer Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai, who was popularly known just by his village name.

Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai was a renowned novelist of the Malayalam language (1912-1999). He wrote mostly on themes connected with the labour classes of Kerala. His most famous book is Coir published in 1978 . He was awarded padma Bhushan and jnanapith awards. His another novel Chemmeen was made into an award-winning film.
